I’ve been eyeing Suvarna Haldi Chandan Brightening Face Pack for quite sometime now and this is one of those products which you really want to buy but struggle to find the rationale to invest in.
So,
after using this turmeric, sandalwood and all good things loaded Face Pack for
over a month, here is a ‘No Nonsense’ verdict of Kama Ayurveda Suvarna Haldi
Chandan Brightening Face Pack.
Amazing
face pack which gives instant but short-lived glow
Worth
the money? Not really. Can be created at home by mixing couple
of ingredients from the kitchen.
Will
I buy it again? Yes. A good to have face mask for
emergencies when you don’t have time to create a one and need that instant
glow.

on for detailed review.
The
moment you open the jar, you are hit with a wonderful aroma of soothing sandalwood
and all things good. It is a nice pack in form of a powder which can be mixed
with water, rosewater, aloe vera juice, yogurt/milk or any Face mist depending
on your skin type. As I have a very sensitive skin, I prefer mixing it with Kama
Ayurveda Pure Vetiver water and plain water to form a nice paste. I’ve skipped
vetiver water a couple of times and there wasn’t any difference so if you don’t
have any, plain water works just fine.
Skin
Prep and application:
1. I wash my face with Kama Ayurveda Mridul cleanser. This is a wonderful soap free cleanser from Kama, worth every damn penny.
2. Spray a bit of rose water and let the water settle for a couple of minutes.
3. With my face still moist with the rose water, I generously apply this amazing face pack. I’ve realized that this face pack works wonders when applied in a thick form rather than runny.
With
the face pack on, my skin tingles in a good way. The pack dries up within 5 minutes,
but it is so soothing that I like to keep it for at least 20-30 minutes hence I
keep spraying rose water on it from time to time.
It
instantly relaxes my senses on application. There is absolutely no irritation
whatsoever. I generally like to use this face pack on weekends or evenings
after a long day. It makes my skin come alive instantly.
This
face pack also works amazingly as a gentle scrub. I like to massage my face a
bit while washing off this face pack and I can feel my face getting gently exfoliated.
After
effects
My
face gets that instant short-lived golden glow and feels a bit tighter in a
good way. I haven’t noticed any long-term effects.
It
is one of those feel good, pamper yourself face masks and I love it. Do I need
it? No. But do I want it? Hell, yeah!
So
I’ve decided to buy a one and use it when my skin looks tired after a long week
or a long day.
A
couple of things to take care of while using this face pack
· This face pack contains Turmeric hence it is best to use it in the evening as Sun and turmeric don’t go too well and your skin might turn dark if instantly exposed to sunlight.
· Again, as this face pack contains turmeric, it is the best to avoid soap cleansers before or after as soap instantly washes of turmeric and you might miss out on all the potent benefits of this face pack.
Finally, go ahead and splurge a little if you want to give your skin that extra well- deserved TLC. Kama Ayurveda Suvarna Haldi Chandan Brightening Face Pack is neither an investment nor a necessity but a luxury face spa at home.
Alternatively, you could also replicate a similar
face pack at home by mixing besan (chickpea flour) or multani mitti (fuller’s
earth), turmeric, sandalwood powder/oil, lemon juice and rose water.
Take
care of yourself. Sleep well, eat well, hydrate plenty, laugh a lot and exercise
a little.
